A Death in Valencia by Jason Webster
Detective Max Camara is under pressure. When one of Camara's long term adversaries is put in charge of the missing abortionist case, tensions are quickly running high, and with ominous cracks spreading across the walls of his flat, Camara soon has nowhere to turn.
Jason Webster has made Valencia his own.. This is Chief Inspector Max Camara’s second outing, and his colourful personality is every bit a match for the vibrant but often trouble home of paella he has to keep safe -- Henry Sutton * Daily Mirror *
Camara is a lively edition to Mediterranean coppery -- Marcel Berlins * The Times *
Our favourite Spanish, flamenco-loving, brandy-drinking inspector (and there are a few) is back * Sport Magazine *
Camara is the opposite of the conventional ‘foodie’ detective from Mediterranean fiction... [Camara’s] perceptions of what is wrong with Spanish society form an original background to a complex thriller -- Jane Jakeman * Independent *
This second novel featuring resourceful protagonist Max Camara is quite the equal of its atmospheric predecessor Or the Bull Kills You * Good Book Guide *
