Death of a Doxy by Chris Longmuir

Dundee, Scotland; December 1919

Big Aggie's girls are much in demand in her notorious house of pleasure. When one of her most popular girls is savagely killed it sparks off a mystery with wide-reaching effects.

Why was Lily killed? Was it a crime of passion or something more calculated? And what secrets was Lily hiding?

Dundee's first policewoman, Kirsty Campbell, thinks it's more than a crime of passion. She's keen to prove herself to DI Jamie Brewster by cracking the case.

To find the killer, she must unravel Lily's secrets - but it's only when her own life is in danger that she learns others hide secrets too.

It is a tortuous trail where Kirsty faces danger before the mystery is solved.

Chris Longmuir, while being born in Wiltshire, lives in a small beach village on Scotland's east coast and considers herself a Scot. She worked in shops, offices, mills, factories, and even as a bus conductress after she graduated from high school at the age of 15. She worked as a social worker for Angus Council (later as Assistant Principal Officer for Adoption and Fostering) after receiving her degree and has experience working with drug users and HIV patients. Chris began writing in 1990 and has since published several short pieces.
