Alison MacLeod is an author of novels, short stories, and essays. Unexploded, her most recent work, was a Book of the Year for the Observer and was longlisted for the 2013 Man Booker Prize. The BBC National Short Story Prize and the Sunday Times EFG International Short Story Award have both nominated her. She is a professor of contemporary literature at the University of Chichester in England and an Eccles British Library Writer in Residence. She was born and reared in Canada.
