The Deep Murmur by Renaud Camus
A collection of three, never-before-translated essays by French writer Renaud Camus. The first essay, "Elegy for Enoch Powell," considers Enoch Powell's famous "Rivers of Blood" speech 50 years on. In the other two essays, "The Word 'Race'" and "The Deep Murmur," Camus examines the diverse ways in which the word "race" has been used across French history. In the service of antiracism, its various meanings have since the 1970s been reduced to one, paradoxically paving the way for the destruction of race in all of its forms. Each essay is thoroughly annotated to help non-French readers better navigate what might be unfamiliar references.| SKU | Unavailable |
