Detective Nosegoode and the Museum Robbery by Marian Orlon

A famous picture is in danger of being stolen, the headquarters of the Circle of the Aficionados of Checkers has been robbed and an elusive pickpocket strikes at the celebrations to mark the hundredth anniversary of the founding of Lower Limewood. This small town seems to have a attracted quite a number of thieves - a good job they can count the brilliant Detective Nosegoode and his faithful Cody among their residents.
"Flisak’s strong, distinctive ink drawings help define characters while underscoring the stories’ gentle humor… handsome design, good paper stock, and relatively durable cover, this book is both sturdier and more attractive than its paperback designation might suggestA pleasing addition to the series." — Booklist

"Recommended for independent readers who might enjoy this dip into another era, to children who like older stories, such as Lois Lenski's Eleanor Estes' Harriet the Spy, or Chitty Chitty Bang Bang." - Youth Services Book Review

"The classic Polish children's book series... It's all woofily exciting." — The Times, Children's Book of the Week
