Raised as a Southern belle, Cici McNair escaped her suffocating, strict up-bringing to travel the world. Eventually Cici landed in New York where she found herself divorced, and unemployed and she decided it was time follow a childhood dream and become a private investigator. But, as Cici quickly learned, the world of PI's is tight-knit, almost exclusively former law enforcement and highly suspicious of newcomers. She fiinally gets a toe in the door by landing work with an investigator described as 'poison' throughout the industry and brushes shoulders with the drug runners and the Vietnamese Mafia in Chinatown working undercover on counterfeiting cases. She eventually goes solo to start her own firm, Green Star Investigations. Detailing the hidden world and real-life cases of a PI, this action-packed memoir is as riveting as any detective novel you've ever read.
