S.J. Kincaid was born in Alabama, raised in California, and graduated from New Hampshire High School. She also interned for a politician in Washington, DC, and earned degrees from Illinois and Ohio universities, but it was while living next to a scary graveyard in Edinburgh, Scotland, that she discovered she wanted to be a writer. Kincaid now lives in California after multiple years, several manuscripts, and several jobs, and Catalyst is the final book in the Insignia trilogy.
