Hoey was a television commentator at the wedding of Charles and Diana in 1981 and again, sadly, in 1997 at the funeral of Diana. His books include Pets by Royal Appointment, Working for the Royals, Not In Front of the Corgis: Secrets of Life Behind the Royal Curtains and We Are Amused: A Royal Miscellany.
