In 1941, at the age of seventeen, Sheila Allan's life was plunged into a nightmare. For the next three and a half years she was a prisoner of the Japanese in Changi Prison and Sime Road Camp.
Sheila Bruhn was born in Malaysia before the outbreak of WWI. At the age of seventeen, she was taken prisoner by the Japanese in Singapore. After her release she moved to Australia, where she took up nursing and raised a family.
