The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

Anne Frank wrote her diary whilst in hiding from the Nazis in claustrophobic, cramped rooms in Amsterdam; she wrote of war, the world and of growing up in one of the most personal and moving accounts ever. This edition contains more of her original diary than any other paperback edition.
Anne Frank was born in 1929 into a German Jewish family who moved to Amsterdam to escape the Nazi threat. By 1942 that too was a dangerous place for Jews and Anne, her family and four others went into hiding in the Secret Annexe. In August 1944 Gestapo agents forced their way into the Annexe and arrested all the occupants. Anne Frank died in March 1945, in the concentration camp at Belsen. Only her father survived the war and, in 1947, his edited version of Anne's diary was published.
