Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) was a New England preacher, a spiritual giant and a stimulator of the Great Awakening. Cotton Mather (1663-1728) was a great theologian at Boston's Second Church. Philip Doddridge (1702-1751) was a pastor, teacher and hymn writer. Adoniram Judson (1788-1850) was a missionary who served in Burma. William Law (1686-1761) was an English priest and writer. Brother Lawrence (1611-1691) was a kitchen worker of a Carmelite monastery.
