Sergio Baldi, Ph.D. (1983), Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris), is Professor Emeritus of Hausa and Sudanic Languages at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. He has published monographs, dictionaries and more than one hundred articles on Arabic loanwords in African languages.
