MATT FREEDMAN is an artist, writer, and curator who holds degrees from Harvard College and the University of Iowa, as well as a position as a professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He has won a National Endowment for the Arts sculpture scholarship and a New York Foundation for the Arts fiction writing fellowship. He co-curated the Paper Sculpture display at SculptureCenter in New York, as well as the Long Island University (B 19) exhibition. Pierogi, FiveMyles, Big&Small/Casual, Valentine, and Studio 10 galleries in Brooklyn have recently hosted solo exhibitions of Freedman's work. He worked as a cartoonist for 12 years after graduating from college, and his comic Free Associates was featured in the Onion, the Chicago Reader, and the Philadelphia City Paper.
Cabinet Magazine and The Pierogi Press have also published his work. Freedman is a resident of Queens, New York.
