Dinosaurs by Kathryn Jackson
In>Smithsonian Young Explorers: Dinosaurs, young readers go back in time with the Smithsonian and experience life among the dinosaurs. The perfect introduction to the fascinating world of dinosaurs, this playful and informative fact book teaches children how we learn about dinosaurs, how they are classified, and which dinosaurs ruled the land millions of years ago. Once young explorers have become paleontologists-in-training, they can continue their education by assembling the included dinosaur floor puzzle. The colorful puzzle and poster provide extra opportunities to learn about the different dinosaurs and engage children in the sciences. And once readers are ready to go on the hunt for their own dinosaur bones, the 32-page book, 130-piece puzzle, and map all tuck neatly into a snap-shut suitcase, ready to uncover the new greatest dinosaur that ever lived. In>Smithsonian Young Explorers: Dinosaurs, young readers go back in time with the Smithsonian and experience life among the dinosaurs. BACKGROUND: As of 2017, Kathryn Jackson is a Christchurch-based coach with over 20 years of corporate HR, learning and development, and coaching experience. Andersen's, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and Bank of Scotland were among the companies she worked for in the UK, where she was responsible for various aspects of people management, including performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement. For over ten years, Kathryn's business careerbalance Ltd has provided Executive and Leadership Coaching, Career and Outplacement services to New Zealand organizations. In recent years, CERA, Ernst & Young, CDHB, Noel Leeming Group, and, for the past four years, SCIRT have been clients. She specializes in assisting professionals and executives who want to improve their resilience, job success, and overall performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PUBLICATIONS Kathryn holds a first-class honours degree in Human Resources Management, as well as a post-graduate study of Workplace Motivation. She undertook additional training as a Career Coach, DISC and NLP accreditation, and most recently an grasp of the Psychology of Objectives since coming to New Zealand in 2005. She was awarded Senior Practitioner after completing a six-month European Individual Accreditation with the EMCC in 2017. Her continuous dedication to CPD led to her choice to research and publish a book about overcoming redundancy (a unique journey employing a coaching style of writing) after being accepted as a Fellow with the CIPD in 2015.
This was followed by the book you just finished reading, which is intended at managers who are beginning to coach and want to know how their new coaching skills might sound in the workplace. She is now working on a book about job resilience that will be published by Routledge in 2017/18. OUTSIDE WORK As part of her commitment to helping people in a variety of ways, Kathryn has participated in a number of sports events to raise money for charity and was instrumental in the founding (and currently coaching with) the KEA coaching trust, which provides coaching to New Zealand's non-governmental organizations. She loves spending time in the saddle with her horses in rural North Canterbury, where she lives with her family.
