Directory of Flags by Charlotte Greig

For thousands of years, flags have been used to identify countries and cultures, people and places. Today, the flags of the world can still provide a key to discovering national identity and history of each and every country in the international community. Presented in a neat directory format, this book offers nearly 300 flags, each alongside the story of its provenance and design.

Charlotte Greig earned an MA in Intellectual History from Sussex University and began working as a freelance writer and editor for a range of publications, including NME and the Guardian. She published her debut book in 1989 and has since written four more and contributed to several others. She has established a reputation as a specialist in popular music, in addition to lecturing and broadcasting. She lives in Cardiff, Wales, and is also a musician.
