Discovering Wine by Joanna Simon
Approaching wine from the reader's point of view, Joanna Simon breaks down the barriers and lays bare all the components that make up the taste of wine. As well as giving a fresh perspective on tasting, serving, storing and matching wine with food, "Discovering Wine" explores the fundamental ingredients - showing clearly what the grapes contribute to the wine and how the winemakers use them to their advantage.
Joanna Simon is the award-winning wine writer of The Sunday Times, and contributor to Style magazine, and the Travel and Books sections. Before joining The Sunday Times, she was editor of Wine magazine and before that editor of Wine & Spirit International. Her books include The Sunday Times Book of Wine (published in seven languages) and Wine with Food (published in three languages). Joanna was the broadcaster of BBC Radio 4's first series devoted to entirely to wine, and her television appearances have covered everything from vodka, to matching food and wine, to buying fine and rare wines at auction. Joanna lives in London, but spends as much time as possible in her other home in a remote part of France.
