Thomas Springer studierte Informatik an der Technischen Universit�t Dresden. Im Anschluss an das Studium war er von 1998 bis 2001 Stipendiat des Graduiertenkollegs I der Fakult�t Informatik an der Technischen Universit�t Dresden mit dem Thema Werkzeuge zum effektiven Einsatz paralleler und verteilter Rechnersysteme. Seit November 2001 ist er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl Rechnernetze von Prof. Schill. Die Schwerpunkte seiner Forschungsarbeiten sind Mobile und Ubiquitous Computing sowie Middleware. Im Rahmen seiner Dissertation besch�ftigt er sich mit innovativen Verfahren zur Adaption verteilter Anwendungen im Bereich Mobile und Ubiquitous Computing. Prof. Dr. Alexander Schill ist Professor f�r Rechnernetze und Dekan der Fakult�t Informatik an der Technischen Universit�t Dresden. Seine Arbeitsschwerpunkte sind verteilte Systeme und Middleware, Hochleistungsnetze und Multimedia sowie moderne Teledienste wie z.B. Teleteaching und Teleworking. Seine Forschungsprojekte werden in enger Kooperation mit der Industrie durchgef�hrt. Zwischen der Promotion und der Habilitation an der Universit�t Karlsruhe arbeitete er am IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, New York. Prof. Schill ist Autor bzw. Koautor zahlreicher Publikationen und Fachb�cher im Bereich der Rechnernetze.
