DK Eyewitness Books: Train by John Coiley
The most trusted nonfiction series on the market, Eyewitness Books provide an in-depth, comprehensive look at their subjects with a unique integration of words and pictures. Eyewitness Train is DK's classic look at railroads and the trains that move along them.
"This format captures the flavor and spirit of it all, from the engineering feats of blasting tunnels through mountains and building the rail system to the never-to-be-seen-again opulence of train travel for the wealthy"--Science Books & Films.
John Coiley was the curator of the National Railway Museum in York from its foundation in the 1970s until his retirement in 1992. From 1983 to 1986, he was the president of the International Association of Transport Museums. He died in 1998. The John Coiley Award for locomotive preservation is given by the Heritage Railway Association. Books he wrote include DK Eyewitness: Train and Rocket to Eurostar: National Railway Museum in Camera.
