William Le Queux was an Anglo-French journalist, author, and radio presenter who lived from 1864 to 1927. Le Queux, who was born in London to a French father and an English mother, studied art in Paris and on a walking tour of Europe before working as a reporter for several French newspapers. He returned to London at the end of the 1880s, editing Gossip and Piccadilly before being employed as a reporter for The Globe in 1891. He left journalism after several unpleasant years to follow his creative pursuits. With spy thrillers like The Great War in England in 1897 (1894) and The Invasion of 1910 (1906), Le Queux established himself as a renowned writer of popular fiction. In addition to writing, Le Queux was a pioneer in early aircraft and radio transmission, pursuits he pursued while releasing over 150 novels over the course of his decades-long career.
