Long, McKendree: - McKendree R. (Mike) Long III is a former soldier with two combat tours in South Vietnam. His awards and decorations include the Parachutist s Badge, the Combat Infantryman s Badge, the Silver Star, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (Gold and Silver Stars). After retiring from the U.S. Army in 1980, he was a financial advisor with a major investment firm for 29 years. He now devotes his time to his family, his writing, his guns, and travel.
