Summary
The feel-good place to buy books

Don Breckon's Great Western Railway by Don Breckon
Auto trains, junction connections, double-headed expresses, locomotive depots and wayside stations - they all come vividly to life in works of true art as well as technical accuracy. Of one thing there can be no doubt - the artist's love of his subject. This comes out not only in the paintings but in the detailed commentaries and the extenisve introductory text with its own range of illustrations. This book comprises a gallery in itself to be treasured as such.
Don Breckon was born in 1935 in Corby, Northhamptonshire. After training and working as an art teacher, he eventually turned to painting full-time. The ardent train-spotting of his youth re-surfaced in a passion for painting scenes from the era of steam, and it is on these works that his tremendous success is based. His work has featured on television and exhibitions have been held in several parts of the UK.
