Maochun Yu is Professor of East Asia and Military History at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis , Maryland . He holds a doctoral degree from the University of California at Berkeley (1994), a Masters degree from Swarthmore College (1987) and a Bachelors degree from Nankai University (1983). He is the author of The Dragon's War: Allied Operations and the Fate of China, 1937-1947 and OSS in China: Prelude to Cold War and numerous articles on modern China and the military and intelligence history of World War II and the Cold War
