Dramatists Toolkit, the Craft of the Working Playwright by Jeffrey Sweet
Artolan Slime is an ordinary eleven-year-old boy growing up in the sleepy village of Dawnberry - a place still traumatised by a mining tragedy nearly forty years ago. Bullied by Lysander Nettle's gang and seemingly invisible to his odious Geography teacher, Mrs Potovens, Artolan is sceptical of the rumours circulating Dawnberry Academy of the Blue Lady - the ghost of a former teacher believed to haunt its corridors. But events take an unexpected twist the moment Artolan trespasses in a neighbour's garden and glimpses the haunting face of a mysterious woman in an upstairs window. Who is she and why is she hiding in a house that has been up for sale and unoccupied for months? When she begins to visit him in his dreams, Artolan is faced with no choice but to seek the help of his two closest friends, Henry and Catherine, to uncover the mystery of her true identity once and for all. But what price will these friends have to pay before the mystery is finally unravelled?
