Dublin Bus by Darren Hall
On 2 February 1987, the State Transport Company CIE was split into three operational companies operating independently of each other, Dublin Bus providing bus transport to the Greater Dublin area. The company has served the city for forty years against a backdrop of recession and poor infrastructure in the 1980s through to an economic boom in the 1990s and 2000s. From humble beginnings with a fleet that needed investment Dublin Bus has flourished and is now a well-run and vital cog in the wheel of the city. There have been many innovations in terms of liveries, vehicle types and route reorganizations as well as the loss of some routes to a new company, Go Ahead Ireland.
With a wealth of fascinating images, Darren Hall details the story of this much-loved Dublin bus company in its fortieth year of operation.
