Early Reader: Chocolate Porridge by Margaret Mahy

Early Readers are stepping stones from picture books to reading books. A blue Early Reader is perfect for sharing and reading together. A red Early Reader is the next step on your reading journey. Timothy's sisters think that boys are all rubbish at cooking so Timothy sets out to prove them wrong - by making the most delicious chocolate porridge ever. The only trouble is... who is going to eat it? A brand-new full colour Early Reader edition of this favourite story, with charming, classic illustrations that have the same warmth and appeal as Shirley Hughes.

Margaret Mahy's many books - picture books, short stories, and fiction for teenagers as well as younger children - have been hugely successful all round the world and she was indisputably one of the most popular and successful 20th-century children's authors. She won the CARNEGIE MEDAL and many other awards, and was nominated for the HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN AWARD. Margaret died in July 2012.

Terry Milne has illustrated both pictures books and fiction for children, working with authors such as Martin Waddell, Penelope Lively and Jenny Nimmo, as well as writing and illustrating her own picture book, LOUIS' DREAM PLANE. She lives in Oxford with her architect husband and two young daughters.
