
Raebeck, Shelby: - Shelby Raebeck grew up on the East End of Long Island in the town of Amagansett and later returned to live in neighboring Springs. In between, he earned graduate degrees and taught at schools and universities in a variety of locations around the country, including Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, Louisiana, Utah, and California. He is the author of Louse Point: Stories From the East End and the critically acclaimed novel, Sparrow Beach, both of which are set on Long Island's East End. His story, Fremont's Return, has been presented as a one-person, two-act play, featuring actor Gerard Doyle, at several eastern Long Island venues, with more shows planned. He has two children, now young adults, Talia and Sebastian, and is currently at work on a collection of nonfiction as well as a novel based on the story, Night Life.
