Jennifer Olvera graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor's degree in English and began writing about food and eating in Chicago in 1998. She went on to write worldwide culinary travel tales for the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and Frommers.com after years as a restaurant reviewer for Chicago magazine. Jennifer worked on the Zagat Chicago Restaurants Survey in 2010/2011, tests and produces recipes for the Chicago Sun-Times, and manages Gayot.com's Midwest and Chicago dining. Jennifer resides in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, Chris, and son, Hayden Greer. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including Women's Day Special Interest Magazines, Orbitz.com, Edible Chicago, and Time Out Chicago. You'll find her canning, collecting ingredients from local farms, or relaxing with an ice-cold cocktail when she's not plucking heirloom tomatoes from her backyard garden.
