It all starts with a phone call late on a Saturday evening, a week before Christmas, to inform him that Edie, his mother, has died. This call sets in motion a series of events that are incredible, hilarious and surreal. And all because Edie wanted to donate her body to medical research. David was determined to fulfil his mum's wishes but, oh, did he have a few words with her along the way Edie and Eric, David's parents, were a curious couple. In 2017 ADT gathered tens of thousands to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for 24/7 worship and prayer. David is building a decentralized network of praying communities across the nation. In 2009, he pioneered an expression of day-and-night prayer and worship in Fredericksburg, Virginia, called the Prayer Furnace, and he serves as lead pastor of Awakening Community Church. He has traveled extensively both nationally and globally. He and his wife, Ashley, have five children.
