Howard Anton graduated with a B.A. His M.A. is from Lehigh University. His Ph.D. is from the University of Illinois. All of my degrees are in mathematics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. In the early 1960s, he worked at Cape Canaveral on the human space program.

He joined Drexel University in Philadelphia as a research professor of mathematics in 1968, where he taught and conducted mathematical research for the next 15 years. He retired from Drexel as a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics in 1983 to pursue a full-time career as a mathematical textbook author. His novels are currently available in over 150 languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew, Italian, and Indonesian. The Textbook Writers Association honored him with a Textbook Excellence Award in 1994, and the McGuffey Award in 2011 for his Elementary Linear Algebra volume.

Dr. Anton has served on the Board of Governors of the Mathematical Association of America's EPADEL section, as well as guiding the formation of its Student Branches. Dr. Anton relaxes by traveling and taking photographs.
