LYNNE COX grew raised in Los Alamitos, California, and was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She has held open-water swimming records all over the world, and she does so without the use of a wetsuit. The International Swimming Hall of Fame has inducted Cox. Her work has appeared in a variety of magazines, including The New Yorker, The New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times Magazine, to name a few. Cox resides in the city of Long Beach, California.
