Eleanor Farjeon (1881-1965) was one of the most important children's writers of the twentieth century. In 1956 she was awarded both the Carnegie Medal and the Hans Christian Andersen International Medal. In her honour, a prize bearing her name is now awarded annually. Charlotte Voake is one of the most acclaimed contemporary children's book creators and has been shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award four times. Her books include Ginger, its prequel Ginger Finds a Home (9781406312706) and Pizza Kittens (9780744598100), winner of the 2002 Smarties Book Prize Silver Award. She lives in Woking, Surrey.
