Eltham Through Time by Kristina Bedford
Eltham, long a little-known jewel in Greater London's crown, has welcomed growing numbers of tourists since Greenwich was appointed a Royal Borough at the Diamond Jubilee, 'in recognition of the historically close links forged between Greenwich and our Royal Family, from the Middle Ages to the present day'. Kristina Bedford is a historical researcher specialising in the medieval and Tudor-Stuart periods. She has authored several articles and books in the fields of theatre and local history, documenting Eltham and Woolwich for Amberley Publishing’s Through Time series and, having crossed the Atlantic to study the theatre of Shakespeare in 1984, leapt at the opportunity to explore Secret Southwark and Blackfriars for Amberley today.
