Embracing Exile by T Scott Daniels
Exile can be a frightening prospect.Like the Israelites in Babylon, Christians today may feel they are in unfamiliar territory, surrounded by a culture with customs and practices foreign to their faith. In these times of dislocation and powerlessness, God wants to help his people experience anew the possibilities of covenantal faithfulness. In Embracing Exile, T. Scott Daniels invites the church to embrace this modern time of 'exile' and to seize this unique opportunity to be a blessing to the culture around us.
Earl and Hazel Lee are best known as a remarkable ministry team during Earl's long tenure as beloved pastor at Pasadena, California, First Church of the Nazarene, where attendance grew to 3,000 and a tape ministry literally cicled the globe. They preveiously served as missionaries to India. The Lees coauthored Committed to Grace, published in 1993. Now retired, they maintain a active speaking ministry with revivals, retreats, conferences, and a variety of other settings. T. Scott Daniels is senior pastor at Nampa College Church of the Nazarene and teaches regularly at Northwest Nazarene University. Previously, Scott pastored in Pasadena, California, and Richardson, Texas, and served as the dean of the School of Theology at Azusa Pacific University. He received his BA from Northwest Nazarene University and his MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, where he also received his PhD in Christian ethics and theology. He is a frequent guest speaker, author, and contributor to several books, journals, and magazines.
