Emma Hamilton (1765-1815) rose to national and international fame as a model, performer, trendsetter and interpreter of neoclassical fashion. Accompanying a major exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, from November 2016 to April 2017, this book provides an evaluation of Emma Hamilton's artistic undertakings, cultural achievements and legacy.
Dr Quintin Colville is Curator of Naval History at the National Maritime Museum. He was lead curator for the Museum's Nelson, Navy, Nation permanent gallery and for its major exhibition, Emma Hamilton: Seduction and Celebrity. He has published on naval history, and the histories of gender and material culture.
