Emotional Terrorism by Joolz

Joolz has performed her work throughout Britain, Europe and North America at major international festivals, at rock gigs, and in numerous pubs and clubs. 'Joolz, the flame-haired bard of Bradford and often brilliant chronicler of life as lived by the less fortunate... School poetry was never like this.' - Q magazine. Emotional Terrorism was Joolz's second collection.
A new way of dealing with timeless themes (blood, death, the tainting of the seasons etc) and that's a massive achievement.. Some of the poems take your breath away. * City Life *
Adopting the shell-shocked fragmented personae of war veterans, bitter young mothers and delinquent drug addicts, Joolz throws a harsh chilling light on modern life... She is also an outrageously funny woman with a biting ridicule taken straight from everyday life. * Sounds *
She has been called an outrageous political feminist. She has been called the best alternative performance poet in the world...Her poetry contains an incongruously sensitive note. Her work is humorous, passionate and sometimes endearingly ingenious. * The Stage & Television Today *
Joolz is very modern, assertive, and in many respects rightly uncompromising. If Chaucer had been a feminist and into funky jazz, he might have written like this: everyday anecdotes, with a tale-telling verve. -- Michael Bennett
