Viscount Ilya Prigogine is the Director of the Ilya Prigogine Center of Statistical Mechanics, Thermodynamics, and Complex Systems in Austin, Texas, as well as the Director of the Solvay Institutes of Physics and Chemistry in Brussels. He is a Nobel Laureate in Chemistry. Prigogine has five institutes dedicated to the study of complex systems named after him. He has received honorary degrees from over forty universities throughout the world. He splits his time between Brussels and Austin.
