This handbook explores the Ashmolean Museum's collection of English seventeenth-century embroideries. Mary M. Brooks is a senior lecturer at the University of Southampton and has a background in museums and textile conservation. She has a special interest in the contribution that object-based research and conservation approaches can make to the wider interpretation and presentation of cultural artefacts.
