The English Vicarage Garden by Read

This antiquarian volume contains a collection of short stories by the seminal American writer, Edith Wharton. It comprises some of her finest fantastic and detective work, and contains stories ranging from the mystery of misunderstood monsters, to tales of vengeful spectres and neurotic artists. This collection will appeal to those with a penchant for the supernatural, and it constitutes a veritable must-read for fans and collectors of Wharton's work. The stories of this collection include: 'The Bolted Door', 'His Father's Son', 'The Daunt Diana', 'The Debt', 'Full Circle', 'The Legend', 'The Eyes', 'The Blond Beast', 'Afterward', and 'The Letters'. Edith Wharton (1862 - 1937) was an American writer and designer who won the Pulitzer prize and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1927, 1928 and 1930. Many texts such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive, and it is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, high-quality, modern edition. It comes complete with a specially commissioned biography of the author.
