"Esquire" Presents by A J Jacobs
Inspired by the popular What it Feels Like' articles that appeared in Esquire magazine, here is a collection of vivid accounts of life-threatening, exhilerating or just plain strange real-life events, as related by the men and women who have lived to tell the tales. Told in intimate, often shocking detail, these unforgettable stories are of life at its most sublime, frightening and otherwise extreme - ever wondered what it felt like to get shot? Be struck by lightening? Participate in an orgy? Get bitten by a shark? The answers are all here...'A. J. Jacobs is an Associate Professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in East Carolina University's Department of Sociology. He was an Assistant Professor in the University of Cincinnati's School of Planning, a Visiting Associate Professor in Hosei University's Faculty of Business (in Tokyo, Japan), and a Visiting Assistant Professor in Michigan State University's Urban Planning Program. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology-Urban Studies from Michigan State University and his Master's in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
