Gregory J. is a well-known author. Privitera is a psychology professor at St. John's University. He is a recipient of both the top teaching honor, The Award for Professional Excellence in Teaching, and the highest scholarly honor, The Award for Professional Excellence in Research and Publishing, from St. Bonaventure University. Dr. Privitera earned his PhD in behavioral neuroscience in the field of psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo and went on to Arizona State University for postdoctoral studies. He is an award-winning author and research scholar who has received national recognition.
His textbooks include a wide range of topics in psychology and the behavioral sciences, including two introductory psychology courses (one of which will be published soon), four statistics works, two research methodologies texts, and a number of additional texts that connect knowledge generation across health, health care, and well-being. Dr. Privitera has also authored over three dozen peer-reviewed studies focused at furthering our knowledge of health and well-being. The American Psychological Association has recognized his work, and it has been featured in the media and press, including Oprah's Magazine, Time Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal. Dr. Privitera is a U.S. Army veteran who, in addition to teaching, research, and advice, has served in the military.
Marine Corps, and he is married with three children: Grace Ann, a daughter, and Aiden Andrew and Luca James, two sons.
