SUZANNE BROOKER earned her BA in 1979 from the California Institute of the Arts, then went on to the Whitney Museum Independent Study program in New York City on an invitation, and continued her drawing studies at the School of Visual Arts. Brooker relocated to the West Coast in 1990, where she studied life drawing with Gary Faigin at the Gage Academy of Art and received her MFA in figurative painting from California State University, Long Beach, under Domenic Cretera. Brooker presently paints and teaches drawing and painting at the Gage Academy, and is the author of Portrait Painting Atelier (2011).
