Eternity in Their Hearts by Don Richardson

Has the God who prepared the gospel for all people groups also prepared all people groups for the gospel?

Don Richardson, author of the bestselling book Peace Child, has studied cultures throughout the world and found startling evidence of belief in the one true God within hundreds of them. In Eternity in Their Hearts, Richardson gives fascinating, real-life examples of ways people groups have exhibited terms and concepts in their histories that have prepared them for the gospel. Read how Pachacuti, the Inca king who founded Machu Picchu, the majestic fortress in Peru, accomplished something far more significant than merely building fortresses, temples, or monuments. He sought, reached out, and found a God far greater than any popular god of his own culture. And there have been others throughout the world, like him, who lived to receive the blessing of the gospel.

Get ready to be amazed at these intriguing examples of how God uses redemptive analogies to bring all men to Himself, bearing out the truth from Ecclesiastes that God has also set eternity in the hearts of men (3:11).

Don Richardson (born 1935) labored among the tribal people of Western New Guinea, Indonesia, as a Christian missionary, teacher, author, and international speaker. In 1962, he and his wife Carol, along with their seven-month-old infant, went to serve for the Regions Beyond Missionary Union among the Sawi tribe of what was then Dutch New Guinea. Cannibalistic headhunters were known among the Sawi. Exposure to malaria, diarrhea, and hepatitis, as well as the potential of violence, were all part of living with them in virtual seclusion from the modern world. Don and his wife returned to North America in 1977, where he joined his mission (now known as World Team) as a minister-at-large.

Don also began teaching at the United States Military Academy. Director of Tribal Peoples' Studies at the Center for Global Mission in Pasadena. Under the auspices of USCWM, he was crucial in the launch of the Perspectives on the Global Christian Movement course. Richardson has continued to teach and travel throughout the world, using redemptive analogies to communicate the gospel message to indigenous peoples and other civilizations.

His best-selling works have influenced missiology and ongoing Christian missionary work significantly. Carol Joy Richardson, Don's first wife and his partner in Christian ministry for 43 years and the mother of their four children, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2004. Don met and fell in love with another Carol, Carol Joyce, after a season of loss. They married in July 2005.
