LILY KING is the author of The Pleasant Hour and The English Teacher, two earlier novels. The Pleasant Hour was named a New York Times Notable Book, a PEN/Hemingway Award alternate, and a Barnes & Noble Discover Award winner. The English Teacher was named a Top Ten Book of the Year by Publishers Weekly, a Best Book of the Year by the Chicago Tribune, and the winner of the Maine Fiction Prize.
