Ronald Jay Cohen, Ph.D., ABPP, is a Clinical Psychology Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Assessment Psychology (ABAP). He is a licensed psychologist in the state of New York, as well as a -scientist-practitioner- and a -scholar-professional- in the highest sense of the terms. Dr. Cohen has had the pleasure of directly working alongside some of the luminaries in the field of psychological assessment, including David Wechsler (when working as a clinical psychology intern at Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital in New York City) and Doug Bray (while working as an asst. clinical psychologist at Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital in New York City), throughout a long and rewarding professional career in which he has produced numerous journal papers and books. Dr Cohen was appointed Senior Psychologist at Bellevue after completing his professional psychology internship there, and his clinical responsibilities included not only psychological assessment but also the supervision and training of others in the field. After being asked by a colleague to do a qualitative research study for an advertising agency, Dr Cohen became a sought-after qualitative research consultant with a client l As an independent practitioner in the New York City region, Dr Cohen taught several courses at local universities on an adjunct basis, including undergraduate and graduate courses in psychological evaluation.

Dr. Cohen's method of qualitative research, dubbed dimensional qualitative research by him, has been imitated and written about by qualitative researchers all around the world. Dr Cohen devised the Discussion of Organizational Culture (a qualitative research instrument detailed in Chapter 16) while working as a consultant for a major corporation that wanted to understand more about its corporate culture. Dr. Cohen's work in qualitative evaluation inspired him to launch the scientific journal Psychology & Marketing, which celebrated 30 years of publication in 2012 with Dr. Cohen as editor-in-chief.
