Dr. Tony Attwood, a clinical psychologist from Brisbane, Australia, has worked with people with autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) for over thirty years. He has dealt with thousands of people, ranging from infants to octogenarians, severely crippled people to university professors. Dr. Attwood is a Brisbane-based private practitioner who also serves as an adjunct professor at Griffith University in Queensland. He travels the world doing workshops and training courses for parents, professionals, and people with autism. He's also a prolific writer of scientific papers and books.

His Asperger's Syndrome and high-functioning autism books and videos are widely regarded as the greatest in the area. His book Asperger's Syndrome: A Handbook for Parents and Professionals has sold over 300,000 copies worldwide and has been translated into twenty languages.
