"A beautiful coffee table/cookbook/memoir" -- San Francisco Book Review.com
Alvaro Maccioni was the first Tuscan to bring the delicious flavours of his native homeland to the UK in the 1960s. In 1975, he opened La Famiglia, the celebrated Chelsea restaurant he still runs today with the help of his daughter Marietta. Married to his wife Letizia for fifty years, father to three children and now grandfather to seven, Alvaro is as much about his family as he is about his food - both of which he loves with irrepressible and undeniable passion. In 1996 Alvaro won first prize from the Golden Chef of Italy, the first time the prize has been awarded outside Italy itself.
