Sharon M. Ballard, Ph.D., CFLE is professor and chair of the Department of Human Development and Family Science at East Carolina University. She has been a certified family life educator through the National Council on Family Relations since 1998 and has conducted a variety of family life education programs in community settings.

Alan C. Taylor, Ph.D., CFLE is associate professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Science at East Carolina University. He has held the credential of certified family life educator since 1998 and has experience implementing family life education programs in a variety of settings. He is the coeditor of Global Perspectives on Family Life Education.
