Polly Devlin is a writer, filmmaker, and broadcaster. She has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for contributions to literature. After spending her upbringing in Northern Ireland, she started her first career at British Vogue at the age of twenty-two, as a writer and later features editor, in the heart of 1960s London. She was relocated to New York a few years later to work for Diana Vreeland on American Vogue, where she was once again a part of the scene she covered in her newspaper columns and stories for The Sunday Times, New Statesman, and Observer. All of Us There, her first book, is now a Virago Modern Classic.

The most recent, New York: Places to Write Home About (Pimpernel Press, 2017; Gibbs Smith, 2017; New York: Behind Closed Doors, Gibbs Smith, 2017), was well received on both sides of the Atlantic. She now splits her time between London and New York, where she taught Creative Nonfiction at Barnard College, Columbia University, until her recent retirement. Polly Devlin is a resident of West London.
