Highlights include organic steel cut oatmeal with black currant blueberry jam, North Shore Bouillabaisse, locally distilled gin-cured Lake Superior mackinaw, and cherry madeleines with cherry glaze. About Minnesota Cooks The Minnesota Farmers Union created Minnesota Cooks in 2003 to celebrate and highlight the partnerships between Minnesota’s dedicated family farmers and the talented chefs, cooks, and restaurant owners from around the state who work tirelessly to highlight farm-fresh foods on their menus. Bruce Miller is the Director of Minnesota Cooks. He also serves as the Outreach and Special Projects Director for Minnesota Farmers Union. He is a partner with Minnesota Public Television on the creation of the Upper Midwest Emmy award winning television program, Farm Fresh Road Trip. Bruce serves as a member of the board of directors for Minnesota’s film commission and is a member of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Arts & Science. Claudine Arndt is the Manager of Minnesota Cooks, acting as the team lead organizing Minnesota Cooks Day at the Minnesota State Fair, an annual, all day event featuring family farmers and chefs demonstrating the use of locally grown foods. She is the primary author of the stories featured in the annual Minnesota Cooks calendar. Claudine is also an Integrative Nutrition Coach with Wellness with Claudine, LLC, specializing in digestive and hormonal health. Katie Cannon is the Photographer for the Minnesota Cooks program and annual calendar and for the public television program, Farm Fresh Road Trip. She is the principal in her photography business, Katie Cannon Photography, focusing on environmental and lifestyle photography of food, families, farms and travel.
