James Proctor has traveled extensively throughout the Nordic region and has lived in a number of them, most notably in Sweden, where he served as the BBC's Scandinavia Correspondent in the mid-1990s. He is fluent in Swedish and conversant in Norwegian and Danish as a result. As a freelance writer, James now splits his time between his native Yorkshire, the south of France, and his log cabin in the Swedish woods. He has authored six guidebooks and contributed to a number of others.
